I can't believe this slipped through the radar:

WASHINGTON, DC - By a vote of 309-115, the U.S. House of Representatives today adopted an amendment offered by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) to the Financial Services and General Government Bill. The amendment bars the FCC from using federal funds to reinstate the so-called "Fairness Doctrine."

Who were the 100 or so democrats that betrayed us on this ammendment?  Why was it allowed to even get to the floor?

more on the flip....

This may be the biggest giveaway to the right-wingers ever!!!  We've really lost our edge here.  With a Democratic president installing an FCC commissioner that would be sympathetic to fairness of political discourse, we could have gotten a chance to reinstitute this noble cause.  Now, it will take an act of congress to do so....

Apparently, a congress that is allowed to run unchecked by the right-wing ideologues.

Not only did we let an important issue get away from us, we just allowed the right-wing to make the situation even worse!  Right under our noses!

Even the implied threat of fairness doctrine regulation could have done us a lot of good...  The broadcasters would have gotten nervous... and they would be more inclined to balance programming.  Instead we allowed this tragedy to happen!

Let's hope the Senate isn't as dumb...

Who is running this house?  Apparently, Rush Limbaugh is!

Thanks,

Mike
