PhysOrg.com reports Clifford Singer (biography), former director of the Program in Arms Control, Disarmament and International Security, has completed a study (pdf)for the Stanley Foundation, which concludes that military action to influence oil production isn't effective policy.

Bear Stearns, one of the largest investment banks, went under today. Ok, not completely. They became insolvent to the point they would have collapsed. The U.S. tax payer saved them, along with JP Morgan chase.

By now, many people are aware of the sub-prime meltdown in the credit market, especially if you are one of those unfortunate families or individuals who have not been able to make ends meet and suddenly found that they subprime rate you have been leaning on has suddenly dried up and left you either homeless or on your way out.
