Goldberry and Bob Johnson have written two great diaries on how DailyKos operates and how it is viewed by the traditional media.  I have posted similar thoughts(although not as well-expressed) on other sites in response to posts/comments about the "dictatorial" nature of DailyKos.  However, I think that many of the comments and responses are going a bit too far in advocating the theory that DailyKos is created and managed organically.  In fact, there is organization and at a certain level control.  And that organization is provided by Markos.

The seemingly minor race for the 94th District Missouri House of Representatives has been widely viewed in the region (and perhaps nationally) as a referendum on the first year of Matt Blunt's term as governer. Mr. Blunt has been mentioned as a possible Republican Presidential candidate in 2016/2020.

Yesterday evening I received a follow-up survey via e-mail from the Democratic National Committee, presumably as a result of donations I made.  I question whether this type of thing is taken any more seriously than the "quality surveys" at your local auto dealer, but just I case I took some time to set out my thoughts...
